Roadtrip 2019 Fall: Vancouver - Richland - Twin Falls - Provo - Kanab - Yucca Valley - Paso Robles - Sacramento - Brookings - Yachats - Cannon Beach - Vancouver

Day 4 - Twin Falls to Provo

Our track to Provo involves a cut through of upper north east Nevada. You always know when you cross the Nevada line.

Ellie dives into the bush after one of them delectable hamster-like thingies.

Truck is ready for her natural environment.

The snows of winter are coming to this land.  Today, it's still 18C in the valley.

Truck desperately tries to break the record for fastest 2010 4 runner. It's highly unlikely that this was successful.

It may look like snow and ice – but it really is salt.

On road speed records aren't the only motor sport activity here. Many like to try their hand at trying their vehicle for a little off road salt pan cross country. It's about as sensible as driving on the beach near the shoreline when the tide's coming in. We've seen too many examples of that gone wrong.

Every yahoo wants a shot at the Bonneville Speedway.  Most just sink into the swamp.

It is dazzlingly bright here.  Sunglasses barely cut down the glare.

The deal.

The speedway observatory.

Afternoon coffee stop. We're thrilled to find one – after all it is Utah.

The rail arms are up – we are permitted to make our way onto Provo. Dinner at Communal awaits.
